Emily Burns was only four years old the first time that she saw the Rocky Mountains and fell in love with them. Growing up in Ohio she dreamed that someday she would make her home in the mountains and as she grew up she realized another passion, writing.  Even as a young child, she could often be found in some hidden corner writing or reading. 

Having spent an extensive amount of time with children, including work as a Nanny, Emily has come to realize that writing for children is an area that comes naturally for her. In particular, she excels in writing mysteries for juveniles, which is still her favorite reading material even as an adult.

Today, she resides in the Metro Denver, Colorado area with her husband and daughter.
